The 2022 schedule has been released. This year's slate includes non-conference tilts with SMU, Iowa, and MNU. The Cats will only leave the state of Kansas twice: the season opener at SMU and a conference series at Mizzou. In addition, the Cats will host four series, including a total of 7 games against the top 2 seeds from last year's World Series: Nebraska (1 seed, 3 games) and Iowa (2 seed, 4 games). This will likely be the toughest schedule ever for the Cats.

The defending Mid-America South Champions have been promoted to back to the NCBA's top division. Kansas State was demoted from Division I to Division II after the 2018 season. The Cats will return to the original Mid-America South Conference that housed them until 2018. The Mid-Am South, in addition to the Cats, is home to rivals St. Louis, Missouri, Pitt State, Nebraska, and Kansas.

For the first time ever, the Cats are conference champions! The Mid-America South Championship was secured after rainouts cancelled the final two games of the regular season. The title guarantees the Cats the 2-seed in the Mid-America Regional and a date with the Wayne State Wildcats in the first round on Friday, May 14.
